Morocco Tour: 6 Days in Morocco itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca – Visit Hassan II Mosque – Drive to Fes
On the first day of our 6 Days Morocco tour, begins with a delightful breakfast at your accommodation. The journey will take us to Fez, with a captivating stop in the city of Rabat Where we be visiting the Hassan Tower and the Oudayas Kasbah as well as the Museum of Mohammed V and Hassan II. After that, we pause for lunch then head to Fes. Upon arrival in Fez, in the afternoon, we will settle into our accommodation, where you can enjoy a satisfying dinner and a comfortable night’s sleep, preparing you for the adventures that await in the days ahead.
Day 2: Sightseeing in Fes with a Local Tour guide
You’ll spend the day on a guided tour of Fes, the cultural capital and one of the most well-preserved medieval Islamic cities in the world. Explore the Andalusian Quarter and it’s beautiful mosque by entering through Bab al-Futuh. He moved to Siffarine through the tanning, dyeing and copper production areas. The oldest mosque in Africa is located within the grounds of the University of Al-Qarawiyyin.
Take a moment to rest in front of the tomb of Idris I, the man credited with founding the city of Fes. You must see the famous fountain in Al-Najjarin whenever you visit the area. Finally, stop by the amazing Carpenters Museum of Wood Arts and Crafts. In the afternoon, you will visit the Attarine School.
We will continue exploring the old city and stop in front of the “Blue Gate” of Fes, Bab Boujloud. Stop by the Norge Tower on your tour of the city walls for a stunning panoramic view of the Medina below. Learn about the history of the area once inhabited by Jews and see the exterior of the Imperial Palace. After that, we will return to our hotel.
Day 3: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert
Today the Road takes us to the Sahara Desert. On the way we will visit many tourist attractions such as Ifrane. Known as the “Switzerland of Morocco”. We will stop at the cedar forest to watch the monkeys swinging between the trees. Then head south through the vast palm groves and oases of the Ziz Valley in southern Morocco, which can be reached via the Middle Atlas Mountains. After that. We will head to the city of Erfoud, famous for its paleontological and historical museums.
In the Merzouga Desert, we will take a camel ride to watch a stunning sunset over the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. After sunset, we will have dinner and spend the night in the heart of the Sahara Desert in Morocco, staying in a luxury desert camp in Merzouga, under a clear, star-filled sky. After dinner, we will enjoy a Berber concert with the rhythm of drums and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Excursion around Merzouga Desert
Today, after breakfast we leave the camp, our first destination will be the Gnawa village, home to black immigrants from South Africa, Sudan, and Mali who established their own village in Merzouga. We will visit them, to listen to the Musics they play, later we give them a tip, and then depart for Meffis Mountain, the site of the ancient mines discovered during the French colonial era. Thereafter leave for the Nomads for drinking a cup of tea and discover their lifestyle. After lunch, take a little stroll through one of the desert’s oases. At last, we transport you to the hotel where you will spend the night.
Day 5: Merzouga Desert – Rissani – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley
Today, we leave Merzouga and drive to Boumalne Dades via Rissani, where we will explore the city and its old market. The tour continues through several other Berber settlements, including Mallab, Tinjdad and Al-Jarf, a village famous for its historic irrigation wells. The Todra Valley and its magnificent 300 meter canyons will be our next destination. In fact, the force of the water pushes its way through the cracks in the rocks. We will walk into the valley, then continue to the Dades Valley where we will spend the night.
Day 6: Boumalne Dades – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
We will continue our journey to Ouarzazate. Passing through the Valley of Roses and the Skoura Oasis on our way to Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. 27 kilometers outside the city of Ouarzazate, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It’s beautiful landscapes have been used in many Hollywood films, including “Lawrence of Arabia,” “The Gladiator,” “Kingdom of Heaven,” “Prince of Persia,” and many others.
The southern kasbahs, which are fortified palaces, are a good example of how different Moroccan architecture and culture are. After completing a walking tour to visit the Kasbah, we will set out through the “Tichka Pass” in the Atlas Mountains, enjoying some wonderful panoramic views and Berber villages along the way. Once in Marrakech we will drop you at your Riad or the airport, end of your 6 Day tour from Casablanca.
